Tommy was a devout Christian, who boldly shared his faith with others. He was a member of Security First Baptist Church for nearly fifty years, where he faithfully served in many areas including being a Deacon, and a Sunday School Teacher. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. He was a hardworking, loving man, who would do anything to help his church, family and friends. He loved his family with his whole heart. His daughters were his pride and joy, he was so proud of his grandchildren, and would jokingly say he tolerated his son-in laws. Tommy enjoyed having a good time, eating, hunting and fishing, and telling stories were his favorite things to do with the ones he loved. He will always be remembered for the love and care he showed to others, and the joy he brought with him everywhere he went.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Shirley Carlene Knight, his wife of 4 years, Linda Rae Knight, his siblings, Douglas O. Knight, Travis H. Knight, Betty Carlisle, and Eloise Marie Dodd, and his parents. Tommy is survived by his daughters Sherry Ruscher and husband Garrick, Shanna Hendrix and husband Jeremy, grandchildren, August Charles Ruscher and wife Stephanie, Seaman Justin Wyatt Watson, Andrew David Hendrix and wife Lauren, and LCPL Garrett Thomas Watson, great grandchildren Sophie Ruscher and Raiden Ruscher, sister Carolyn King, and brothers Gary Knight and J.O. “Cotton” Knight.
