PROVERBS 31:28 "Her children arise and call her blessed..."
Gloria Laughlin completed the journey she had been preparing for her whole life. She went to her eternal Home on Friday, March 16, 2018, peacefully at home with her loving family.
Gloria Robin was born to Charles S. & Iris Ruth Gray on May 18, 1927 in Tahoka, TX. She had two younger siblings, Lonnie Dell (Bona June) & Bonnie Bell (Charlie Shaw) who were twins. She was also preceded in 2013 by the love of her life, Dave E. Laughlin. They were married for 63 years, 3 months, & 3 days.
Gloria is survived by her three children, Twila Davene (Dowen) Johnson, Bobby Dayle Laughlin, & Tamra Ruth (Marty) Douglas; four grandchildren, Charles D. Johnson III, David E. (Kelly) Johnson, Kayla R. Douglas, & Justin L. Douglas. She also has four great grandsons: Luke D., Baylor P., Lance J., & Lane R. Johnson. Also surviving are two brothers-in-law, JB Laughlin & Bob (Bonnie) Laughlin, nieces, nephews, cousins, & many friends who became family.
Gloria was a licensed minister with the Assemblies of God for over 60 years. She worked alongside her husband as an evangelist, pastor, teacher, & musician. She was an artist, wrote poems & composed songs. She could mesmerize young & old alike with her illustrated Bible stories. Her love & mentoring affected the lives of many for eternity.
A celebration of her life will be Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at April Sound Church, 67 1/2 April Wind South, Montgomery, TX;
officiated by her sons-in-law Rev. Dowen Johnson & Rev. Marty Douglas. A time of gathering with the family will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the service to begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception in Fellowship Hall. If you can join us, please wear Spring colors & florals in honor of Mom & the Resurrection of our LORD.
Interment will be in Dew Cemetery, Dew, TX at 3:30 p.m. beside her beloved husband. "They wholly followed the LORD" Numbers 32:12
