Geraldine Coffman Sapp, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2016 after fighting a courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born on August 15th, 1925 to Jacob and Dovie Coffman in Haynesville, LA. Geraldine was preceded in death by husband Stafford Sapp and their beloved special needs son, Larry Sapp. She is survived by son Joe (LaDean) Sapp of Huntsville, TX, daughter Brenda (Bill) Loving, of Conroe, TX, and daughter Tammie Posas of Austin, TX. She is also survived by grandchildren Jason (Jenny) Sapp, Scott Loving, Randy (Cristy) Loving, Hailey and Carter Posas, and great grandchildren, Aria Sapp, Logan, Cole, Chloe and Hunter Loving. Her two surviving sisters are Franceil (Ferrell) Reagan and Bobbie Jean Sapp.
After graduating from Conroe High School and business college, Geraldine worked as an executive secretary in Houston, TX. On October 24th, 1945, she married high school sweetheart, Stafford Sapp. As they made their home in Conroe, her focus changed from her career to raising and caring for her growing family. She took pride in being a member of "The Greatest Generation". Geraldine was a natural athlete. She played numerous sports in high school and was an avid tennis player until the age of 80. Her other passions included playing Bridge, fishing, and especially doting over her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They always knew that every visit with Maw Maw would end with her signature gift of a "dolla".
The family wishes to offer their heartfelt thanks to the caring staff of Traditions Hospice and Elmcroft of Rivershire Senior Living Center. Mother was blessed to receive their love and compassion in her final days.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Cashner Funeral Home, with Funeral Services following at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held at Conroe Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Brenham State Supported Living Center, Traditions Hospice, or to the charity of your choice.
