Elsie Fern Funderburk Powell, born September 17, 1925 in Fort Sumner, New Mexico; died October 31, 2010 in Conroe, Texas. Resident of Conroe, TX, former long-time resident of Deer Park, TX, with familial connections in Knoxville, TN. Beloved mother and grandmother. Valedictorian of Morristown High School, Morristown, TN, Class of 1943. Former Asst. Vice-President of Allied Deer Park Bank. She is survived by one daughter, Kathy Powell Rountree (Kyle) of Lake Charles, LA, Alan Powell of Conroe,TX, Eugene Powell (Renee') of The Woodlands, TX, and 7 grandchildren: Elizabeth Rountree, Alyssa Rountree, Mary Rountree, Anna Powell, Nathaniel Powell, Douglas Powell, Sean Powell, and Joshua Powell. She is preceded in death by one brother, William (Bill) Duke Funderburk of Knoxville, TN. Funeral services will be at Metcalf Funeral Chapel in Conroe on Wednesday, November 3, at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Copeland Chapel Cemetery.
