Elizabeth, most commonly known as Beth, was born on July 7, 1943 to Herman and Althea Cuttino in Greenville, South Carolina. Most of her childhood years were spent in Miami, Florida where Beth grew up in what people might call the American Dream of the 1950s. She attended North Miami Senior High School and completed a year and a half of college at Miami Dade Jr. College. After her family relocated to the great state of Texas, she followed them in the 1970’s. In the trail blazing spirit of Texas she became an entrepreneur in the laundry business serving the Texas Medical Center community. It was here that she became an avid Astros fan and never liked to miss watching a game.
Beth was a gentle spirit but had a keen wit like her mother. She loved a good adventure which led to her many travels around the world. She was creative and loved crafting. Her creativity was most apparent in her love for fashion. She always dressed in the most current style in carefully curated outfits. Even as her health declined she would never leave the house without a coordinated outfit with her signature hats, jewelry, and shoes to match. She loved to go shopping with her dear friends. She had a tender heart and deep love of all animals, especially dogs. As a child she was always bringing home animals for her family to raise. She never lived a day of her life without a pet of some kind. She was a devoted volunteer at the SPCA and fostered many dogs. She loved her house plants and nature; and in her later years she would sit on her porch where she could watch the ducks and humming birds that would visit her many feeders.
Gift giving was her love language and being with her family meant everything to her. She had a love of Jesus and enjoyed her Bible studies. She was a good friend and a great role model for her nieces and nephews which she treated like her own children. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Special thanks to Shannon Beaty, her beloved friend and caretaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Althea Cuttino; and infant brother, David Cuttino. She is survived by her sister, Ann Quiroz (David); her brother, Ed Cuttino (Carol); nieces, Amy Wiley (Jason), Amanda, and Sarah Miller (Aaron); nephew, Steven (Jennifer) Cuttino; grandnieces, Emma and Hannah Wiley and Ellie Cuttino; and grandnephews, Gavin, Aiden, and Mathison Cuttino.
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. -Philippians 1:21
