Dorothy Vaughn

Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty years, Charles K. Vaughn, as well as her parents and brother, Hugh “Graham” Harwell. She is survived by daughter, Donna Vaughn Young and husband Terry of Conroe, Texas and son, Sammy C. Vaughn and wife Marsha of Bella Vista, Arkansas; grandchildren and (spouses) – Kristina Young Murphey (Michael), Kimberly Young Gapinski (Michael), Matthew Vaughn (Jennifer), Gena Vaughn McGee (Josh) and Laura Vaughn Neill (Stuart); great-grandchildren - Brayden & Alexandra Vaughn, Donovan Gapinski, Elizabeth Murphey and Eva McGee. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Ella and Orville Swindell.

Dorothy was employed for many years by the U.S. Forest Service, working in Silver City, New Mexico; Hot Springs, South Dakota, and Portland, Oregon. Following Mr. Vaughn’s retirement from the Veterans Administration, they lived first in Burleson, Texas then moved to Conroe in 1994. Both were devoted members of the Longmire Road Church of Christ.

John Helbig, minister of the Longmire Road Church of Christ will conduct the funeral services on July 5th at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Cashner Funeral home with interment in the mausoleum to follow. Visitation will be from1:00 p.m until services begin.
