Dorothy "Dottie" Trimble

Dorothy (Dottie) Trimble was called home at 4 AM February 11th, 2018 in Tomball Texas. She was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on July 12th, 1939. She was the first child of Stephen Paul Chappo and Theresa Herbertina Wenders Chappo. Dottie grew up in the Woodbridge area of New Jersey surrounded by grandparents and many aunts and uncles. She graduated from Woodbridge Senior High School in 1957. She was a bit of a wild child in the late 1950s, so her father encouraged her to join the Women’s Army Corps (WAC) when she was out of school. After basic training in Alabama, she was stationed in Germany and France. While overseas, she fell in love with Vernon Coffey, another soldier. They married on July 30th, 1960 and began their family. Dottie was honorably discharged from the WAC in September 1960 because ladies could not be pregnant in the Corps. Their first daughter, April was born in February 1961. The family moved back to the states later that year and expanded with a son, Vernon Jr., in June 1963. The family moved to Hawaii when her husband was reassigned by the Army. Her marriage ended in Hawaii and Dottie moved back to her hometown in New Jersey and took a position as a bank teller to support her two children. She became friends with Bob, her neighbor across the hall in her apartment building. He was a single parent as well with a young son, Robert. Many nights sitting up talking about what they each hoped for their future made them realize they were meant for each other. Bob and Dottie married in July 1966 and began to create their blended family. They moved to a large house in Plainfield New Jersey and decided they wanted a baby of their own. In November 1966, their youngest daughter, Kimberly was born. Dottie’s parents moved to Houston and Bob and Dottie followed in 1972. She worked at Kestran, Inc as an Assembly Line Lead producing electronics used in oilfield equipment. In 1977, she took a position at N.L. Hycalog as a Diamond Technician setting industrial diamonds into downhole bits for drilling. By this time, her children were becoming young adults and starting their own lives. Bob and Dottie decided to relocate to Austin, Texas. She went to work at Tellabs in 1986 and ultimately retired as they began downsizing. After retirement, she managed and performed demonstrations for various companies at local HEBs and Walmarts in the Austin area. Dottie loved to travel and the family traveled all over the east coast visiting historic sites. She loved to fish, so the Texas coast was the perfect place for vacations. Dottie loved to cook. If there was a neighborhood party going on, chances were that she was cooking. She was creative with arts and crafts and everyone benefitted from that talent whether it was a wedding, party or simply basic décor.

Dottie was preceded in passing by her Mother and Father, her husband Robert Charles Trimble and her daughter, Kimberly Rosales. She is survived by her daughter April Gray and son-in-law Alan Wakefield, her sons Vernon Coffey Jr. and Robert John Trimble, her sister Mary Ivey and brother Steve Chappo (Prudence), Grandchildren Leslie Hickman (Tony), Chelsea Johnson (Nicholas), Dylan Godair, Yevette Constancio (Ricardo), Robert Trimble (Melissa), John Trimble (Ava), Anthony Trimble (Mandy), Ayla Rossitto (Tony), Mathew Steven Marron, Jonathan Rosales, 11 great grandchildren and a few nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of her life will be held 1:00PM Thursday March 8th at The Ark Church, Conroe, Texas
