Craig was a dedicated veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After being honorably discharged in 1985, he began his life-long employment for Martin Marietta which became Lockheed Martin, spending 37 years with the company. Throughout his life he worked on many different aircraft, building an incredible passion for the industry, including the F-4 Phantom, AH-64D Apache, and the AC-130 Harvest Hawk program. Much of this work was done in on-site support for the military, including deployments in Afghanistan and Kuwait during Operation Enduring Freedom.
Outside of his professional career, he was an incredibly talented artist, focusing on original paintings and detailed aircraft and car models.
Craig worked tirelessly to provide for his family, exerting every effort to make sure none among his family would ever be left wanting.
Craig Murphy was preceded in death by his mother, Carlene Smith, and his father, Lloyd Murphy. He is survived by his wife, Angela Murphy, his daughter, April Murphy, and his son, Kyle Murphy. As well as his two older brothers, Shawn Murphy and Dean Murphy, and numerous extended family and friends.
A memorial service for Craig will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303.
