Codi Renee Davis, our special angel, came to us June 17, 1993 and filled our hearts with love and amazement. Our angel got her wings and left us on May 23, 2012. We are heart broken and yet we must keep breathing and go on. Why doesn’t the world stop and how do we fill the hole in our souls?
Codi left behind her parents, Tammie Elliot and C.R. “Rusty” Davis, stepfather, Bruce Elliot, grandparents, Johnny and Ann Carr and Dena and Leo Morris. Uncle David Carr and Aunt ReNay Carr, Great aunt, Wanda Vanden and uncle, Sam Vaden. Numerous cousins and hundreds of friends are left grieving and asking “WHY”?
Codi never met a stranger and everyone, was her best friend. Codi was an old soul and her thoughts profound and even in her last hours she was trying to ease our pain with her words on paper to claim responsibility for her actions and reassure her family that she loved us deeply.
Codi grew up in Conroe, but she longed to go back to Africa and work with the orphans and children that were born in poverty and who could only hope for a few bites to eat. Codi was a spirit of the universe.
The family wants to thank each and every person that helped look for her and all of the friends that extended their love and compassion to us. A very special thanks to Jamie and Kim for being there and holding on to us as a part of each one of us died. To Dottie, please know that we thank you for helping us keep her here for two years longer.
A private memorial service has been held.
