When one thinks of Claudie, they think of family….and a large family that is. Claudie had nine siblings – she had no children of her own but was blessed with a relationship with her stepson. She also very much enjoyed her nieces and nephews. She had the reputation of always having gum and candy.
Claudie loved being around children. She knew every nursery rhyme and children’s song. She taught the historical verses to her nieces and nephews.
Claudie had a quick laugh, quite contagious. She was fun, social, and interactive. She could hold a great conversation with strangers. Each of Claudie’s sisters can prepare quite the dish in the kitchen. They learned from their mother. Claudie’s dish was gumbo. She spent days preparing the dish for of course, her family.
Claudie enjoyed God’s great earth. She loved a good road trip and learning from travelling. She was quick to be ready to participate and the first one to volunteer to tag along.
Claudie enjoyed her faith and was a great teacher of God’s word. She could discuss the Bible, and life’s daily lessons. She was knowledgeable in any situation of the good that we could learn and prosper from what our Bible instructs.
Claudie who lived the Christian life properly, understood the Christian perspective on death. She has lived her life well for God’s glory and her family believes that she has died bearing witness to the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Bible teaches that to be absent from the body is “to be at home with the Lord.” We rejoice with you today, her family, that Claudie is at home with the Lord. Her home-going is a reminder to us all that heaven is real!
We need to be reminded that as Christians, our best lives are not on this earth. Our lives here, no matter how good, or bad they may have been, are nothing compared to the life that awaits us in heaven.
May Claudie know peace now, reunited with her husband Richard, her parents, and siblings.
She is not sick. She is not frustrated. She is healed. She is happy. She is laughing, travelling, and learning.
