Charles Michael White, lovingly known as “Mike” passed away March 19, 2023. He was surrounded by “His Girls”, his Mother and very close friends, known as Family by his side. He was 69. Mike was born March 9, 1954 to Charles and Sue White in Altus, Oklahoma.
Mike was a Public Servant for almost 50 years. He began that career in his teenage years working on local DPS Trooper’s cars “Tuning them Up”. He later became a Volunteer Firefighter, then a fulltime Firefighter, then on to his lengthy career as a Peace Officer.
Mike lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, laughter and LOVE! Mike worked diligently with the Honor Flight Program for the Veterans and coordinated the return of Montgomery County’s Fallen Soldiers. He was involved with the Security of The Montgomery County Fair, Creighton Theater Events, and Cajun Catfish Festival for many years. He worked as a Motor Officer for The Woodlands Pavilion. During his time as a Canine Officer, Mike and his Partner Jax worked with CASA, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. The duo loved to share Jax’s skills with the children.
Mike leaves behind his loving wife Jill, daughters Kyla Nichole Traverse-White and Arriahna L’Nae Traverse, mother Sue Price, step mother Bettie White, sisters Sharie Berta, Traci Karam, Connie Huffman and spouse Todd, LuAnn Terral and spouse Will, sisters-in-laws LaVerne Traverse, Terresa Waldo and spouse John and Geneva Greathouse, brother-in-law Doyle Odom, nieces and nephews, Melissa Worden (Mike), Tyler Huffman (Carissa), Jordan Huffman, Ashley Huffman King (Evan), Hassan Karam (Justine), Zac Break, Blaine Break, Paige Terral, Ali Terral, Jeff Knox (Alyssa), David Knox (Jennifer), Doyle Odom, III (Octavia), Ryan Odom (Jen), Amanda Waldo, John Ronald Waldo, Joshua Traverse, Krista Greathouse-Teeter (Cale), and several great nieces and nephews.
Mike is preceded in death by his Father, Charles R. White and his Grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Cashner Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at Mims Baptist Church on Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with the Honorable Judge Wayne Mack officiating. Graveside services will conclude in Garden Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kaleb Cobb, Eddie Davis, Eddie Holmes, Jose Torres, Chris Smith, John Stephens, Larry Shoemaker, Tom Wolff, Toby McLaughlin, and Charlie Roper.
