Richard Lee Bumgarner

Richard was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Richard was very proud that he could donate his blood on a regular basis to help others.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by brothers, Randy Bumgarner, David Bumgarner, Darrell Bumgarner; mother in law, Linda Briggs; niece, Kayla Briggs; nephew, Wesley Bumgarner, and brother in law, Tony Pope.

Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Sharon Bumgarner; daughter, Kristen Souza and husband Marcos of Huntersville; son, Kolby Bumgarner and girlfriend, May Theologidy of Charlotte; Grandson, Logan Souza; sisters, Patty Pope of The Villages, Fla; Darlene Dellinger and husband Ken of Conover, NC; Jeanette Reese and husband Dwight of Hickory; brother, Gary Bumgarner and wife Carla of Lenoir; sister in law, Lynnette Bumgarner of Conover; father in law, Daniel Briggs of Hickory; brother in law, Eric Briggs and friend Melinda Briggs.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, March 18, 2021 at Woodlawn Memorial Garden, Hickory, NC.

Visitation will follow after the service at graveside.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials be given to the American Red Cross, 1375 Lenoir Rhyne Blvd West, Suite 119, Hickory NC, 28602.
