Peggy Jean Setzer Walker

She was the daughter of John Fay Setzer and Julia Adalea Sigmon Setzer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ted B. Walker; sister, Helen Setzer Neville; and brother, John Alfred Setzer. She is survived by her brother in law, Leon Neville of Conover; nephews and nieces, Wayne (Cherylene) Setzer of Sherrills Ford; Pam (Mike) Rutledge of Claremont; Julietta (Randy) Cline of Maiden; Nancy (Norman) Murphy of Maiden; Margaret Wilson of Elgin, SC; and Debra (Lyndon) Ellenburg of Anderson, SC; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.

Peggy was employed and retired from Catawba Reality Insurance after many faithful years of service. She was a life-long member of St. James Lutheran Church and was involved in the women’s circle. She loved flowers, traveling and was an avid collector. Peggy loved her parents, her husband, and her extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. She also took great delight in the friendship she had with her dog, Bear.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church in Newton, NC. Visitation of family and friends will be from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in Morganton, NC.
