Peggy Jean (Greer) Evans

Peggy was born in Elizabethton, TN to the late Dayton Ray Greer and Mary Rosalene (Rosie) Parlier Greer. She was a member of Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church.

Peggy was a retired nurse of 30 years and later helped with Seniors Helping Seniors. Peggy loved spending time with her family and close friends. She was an avid Carolina Tar Heel fan, loved going to the beach, loved coffee and Elvis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Lee Evans.

Surviving are her children, Ray Evans (Davina) and Leigh Ann Thompson (Lonnie); grandchildren, Lance Riddle and Libby Evans all of Morganton; brother, Paul Greer (Kay) of SC; sister, Joyce Peters (Norman) of TN; as well as several nieces, nephews, and many lifelong friends.

Funeral Services for Peggy will be held at 3pm on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Deal officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 2pm-2:45pm. Burial will follow the service at Mull’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at Trinity Ridge and Carolina Caring Hospice of Catawba County.
