James Donald Carpenter

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by son, Rodrick Scott Yow and brother in law, Andy Dison.

James was a true family man and he loved to be surrounded by his family. James was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Claremont. He loved his church and reading God’s word. James enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid horseback rider, which grew into teaching and watching his grandchildren ride. James also enjoyed writing poetry and building furniture.

Those left to cherish James’s memory are his wife of 45 years, Veronica Ann Carpenter; son, Jason Donald Carpenter (Rhonda); daughters, Gidget Wray (Kenny), Tiffany Carpenter; brothers Timothy Carpenter (Judy), Mark Carpenter (Alisa); sister, Diane Dison; grandchildren, Joshua Martin, Chloe Ervin, Hailey Cloud, Cooper Wray, Addie Wray, Ivey Huffman, Ivan Huffman, Gavin Carpenter, Paisley Carpenter, Dillon Yow, Vanessa Russell; great grandchildren, Easton Martin, Evie Martin, Archie Cloud, Crosby Ervin, Ozzy Wray.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12pm to 1pm at Bethel Lutheran Church, 5759 Bolick Rd, Claremont, NC 28610.

A Funeral Service for James will be held at 1pm on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Bethel Lutheran Church with Reverend Eric Hollar officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mark’s Cemetery, 3505 E Main St, Claremont, NC 28610. Pallbearers for the service will be Brent Henley, Joshua Martin, Codie Ervin, Spencer Cloud, Daniel Rowe, Cooper Wray, Ivan Huffman, Dillon Yow, Manuel Gonzalez (Honorary), Samuel Escamilla (Honorary), Rafael Cruz Mejia (Honorary).
