Annabelle Katherine Pinkham Miller of Conover, NC died at her home surrounded by family members on October 21, 2024. Annabelle, known as “Pinky” to friends was the only daughter born to the late Vernon and Natalie Pinkham. Annabelle was born on July 8, 1932 in Brattleboro, Vt. She was married to the late George Lee Miller on June 18, 1955.
Annabelle is survived by her four daughters, Elizabeth M. Wooten, of Hickory, Robin Maley of Lexington, Ky., Tammy Armstrong of Hildebran, NC, and Kim of Sevierville, Tn. She is preceded in death by her husband, George, her son, Michael Miller, and brothers, David and Charles Pinkham. She is survived by her youngest brother, Carlos Pinkham in Northfield, Vt. Annabelle will be greatly missed by her surviving children, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Prior to her marriage Annabelle was Miss Vermont in 1954. She maintained her passion for beauty pageants where she was frequently sought out to sit on panels as a judge. Her adult life was spent raising her five children, maintaining the home, and accompanying her husband living in several states, Japan and France as he carried out his duties in the United States Air Force before her husband’s retirement in 1968. The family returned to George’s hometown in Ashe County, NC after his retirement. In Annabelle’s later years she resided in Kernersville, NC, and Catawba County. Annabelle enjoyed attending two local churches, New Life Fellowship church and Woodlawn Baptist church for several years before her death.
A Memorial Service for Annabelle will be held in Vermont at a later date.
