Lee Ann Teller, 72, of Kokomo, passed away at 6:02 PM, Friday, January 9, 2015, at her residence. Born January 4, 1943, in Connersville, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Leland Mitchell Handley and Ruth Evelyn (Love) Handley. She was a 1962 graduate of Connersville High School. On June 8, 1963, at the Central Christian Church in Connersville, she married J. Alan Teller, and he survives. She and Alan owned and operated Blue Ribbon Laundromats in Kokomo for 16 years. She was a member of Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War 1861-1865, Ladies of the Grand Army of the Republic, D.A.R. Mary Penrose Wayne Chapter in Fort Wayne, Order of the Eastern Star #346 of Connersville, Allied Order of the Grand Army of the Republic Central Region Association, the Society of Indiana Pioneers, Ladies Auxiliary of the Sons of the American Revolution, also Beta Sigma Phi.
Survivors include her husband of over 51 years, J. Alan Teller of Kokomo, IN; one son, Jerry “J” Alan (Katie) Teller II, of West Middleton, IN; one daughter, Teresa Ann (Martin) Boike of Noblesville, IN; one brother, David D. (Pamela) Handley of Strongsville, OH; grandchildren, Devin L. (Rachel) Howe of Kokomo, IN and Alexander L. Teller of Kokomo, IN; and one great grandson, Bentley A. Howe of Kokomo, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Tuesday at Ellers Mortuary at Webster Street Chapel in Kokomo, IN; also from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to services Wednesday at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home in Connersville, IN. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Showalter Blackwell Long Funeral Home, 920 North Central Avenue, Connersville, IN. Reverend Randy Gentry will officiate. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery, Connersville, IN.
