Salisbury, NH - On the morning of Wednesday, July 17th, Sarah (Sally) Rose Kenney Connor, 83, of Salisbury, New Hampshire passed away peacefully at Concord Hospital, surrounded by her family. Sally was born in Concord, NH to Francis S. and Florence B. Kenney of Boscawen. She graduated from Penacook High School in 1959 before starting work at Northeast Electronics (Northern Telecom). While continuing to work, Sally followed her path of happiness and put herself through nursing school. Sally graduated from Concord Hospital School of Nursing in May of 1976, before her long nursing career at Concord Hospital and semi-retirement at the NH Veterans Home.
Sally spent many years enjoying time at the family camp in Canaan, Vermont, both snowmobiling in the winter and the lovely summer visits to northern Vermont. Over the years Sally had the pleasure of traveling with family and friends, spending time in Wells Beach Maine and in Florida, amongst many other trips around the country. She truly valued time spent with family and friends, including attending family gatherings through the years and making memories of fun times with friends. Baking, reading, tending to her flower gardens, and watching the many birds that visited her feeders throughout the yard brought her much happiness. Sally had a great love for music and theater, she would not miss an opportunity to attend a concert or to take in a show!
Sally has been an amazing mother and grandmother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Children: Shawn W. Connor of Concord, Jeffrey A. Connor and partner Robin A. Atwell of Boscawen, Kelley J. Audet of Salisbury and Kerry L. Connor and wife Amanda L. of Salisbury; Grandchildren: Hollie M. Callahan and partner Cassandra G. Rheault, Michael J. Audet, Joseph M. Audet and partner Brenna A. Drown, Jeffrey A. Connor Jr. and wife Missy A., Jennifer J. Lee and Griffin M. Connor; Great-Grandchildren: Brody M. Audet, Leigha R. Audet, Nicholas D. Miniutti, Lyndsey M. Lee, Christyna J. Lee, Jack A. Connor and Ryder J. Audet. She is also survived by her sister: Carol A. Young of Holiday, FL; sister-in-law’s: Henrietta Kenney, Mary Ellen Kenney, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Sally is predeceased by her parents; husband, John J. Connor; brother, Edward A. Kenney and wife, Vivian; brother, Philip J. Kenney; brother, Harold F. Kenney; sister, Barbara M. Young and husband, Barry; brother-in-law, Richard S. Young Sr.; grandson, David R. Dawson Jr.
A celebration of life will be held at Alan’s Restaurant in Boscawen NH on Friday August 9th, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. Burial will be private with the family at a later date.
