Robert Bruce Berube Sr.

Born on August 27, 1941 in Franklin, NH, Rob was the son of the late Joseph Raymond Berube and Marjorie Jondro Ritall. He was raised and educated in Colebrook and earned his high school diploma from Spaulding High School in 1967 as part of the state’s only-approved evening high school at the time.

An honorably discharged veteran, Rob served active duty in the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1960 to 1962 on the USS Yosemite.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by various local manufacturing companies including Samuel Eastman, Northeast Electronics, Northern Telecom, and the Mellen Company.

Rob was a member of East Congregational Church in East Concord for over 53 years. He enjoyed kayaking, running, bicycling, watching his garden grow, his camp, and most of all, spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 61 years, Sherrie (Mancini) Berube of Concord, his daughter Tori L. of Manchester, his sons Robert B. Berube, Jr. and Jason D. Berube both of Concord, and his cherished granddaughters, Amelia L. McLeod (Connor) of Raymond and Lauren J. Berube of Jupiter, FL. He also leaves his sister Virginia Croak of Rockland, MA, his brother Donald (Gaetanne) Berube of Ft. Myers, FL, and his half-brother Frederick (Brenda) Lord of Boscawen. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, September 5th from 10 to 11 a.m. at East Congregational Church, 51 Mountain Road, East Concord. A funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with burial immediately following at Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rob’s memory may be sent to East Congregational Church, 51 Mountain Road, Concord, NH 03301. Funds will be used to honor Rob’s many years as East Church’s head trustee.
