She was born April 17, 1937 to William and Janet (Wagoner) Wilkie in Plattsburgh, New York. She was the oldest of four children, and grew up closely with her siblings as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Katherine also known as Pat to many was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She was elegant, loving and at times very funny. She loved family meals, baking and playing games with family after a meal. She was an avid knitter, fabricator of crocheted items, jewelry maker and reader (especially Amish romance).
She was widow to Herbert E. Killam Sr., who passed in 2016 after 54 years of marriage. She is also predeceased by parents William Wilkie Sr. and Janet Wilkie, and siblings James Wilkie, and Janet Scott. She is survived by Herbert Killam Jr. (Laurie) of Hillsboro NH, John Killam (Deidre) of San Bernardino CA, and Elise Devon (Jim) of Portland Maine. She will be missed by her grandchildren: Kirsten Alcantar (Ralph) of Colton, CA, David Killam, Daniel Killam of San Bernardino, CA, Teagan Bustelo-Killam (Alan) of Fremont, CA, Tiffany Killam of Lowell, MA, Arundel Devon, and Seamus Devon of Portland, ME. She has had two very special great-grandchildren Andrew Alcantar and Aydrain Alcantar of Colton, CA. She enjoyed sharing videos and pictures of her great grandchildren. Katherine raised numerous foster children, and was happiest with a house full of people.
Katherine attended State University of New York, (SUNY) Plattsburgh in Plattsburgh, New York then later a Master’s at Keene State College with her three children in attendance. She was a member of The Landmark Baptist Church in Loudon, NH, was also a member of Tres Dias, Kairos and many other ministry outreach programs. Katherine was employed as a house parent at The Hampshire Country School, Sullivan County Extension Service, and a dietician at Sullivan County Home, eventually retiring from New Hampshire State Department of Food and Nutrition after many years of service.
Services were held at The Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH on October 21, 2022 where she was laid to rest with her husband.
