Fred Rivet

Fred Arthur Rivet (Big Fred or Derf), 60, of Webster New Hampshire, passed away suddenly on November 8, 2024 due to health complications. He was born on October 13, 1964 in Manchester, NH at Notre Dame Hospital. He was brought up on the Goffstown back roads until he moved to Concord, where he attended all Concord Public Schools through his youth.

He was a man whose laugh could fill the room and had a heart of gold as big as he was. His family, friends, and the fun he had were always what was most important to him. His biggest pride and joy was the love of his life, Ila, who was his best friend and road trip partner. He looked forward to the weekends, when he could get out his ‘64 Pan Shovel, not knowing where the road would take him. Fred had an enormous love for not only the people around him, but his grand dogs; Sunshine, Timber and Torque as well. Fred quickly found his love for trucking after 2010, most recently being employed at Hopkinton Forestry. He was a member of the Penacook American Legion Post #31 as well as a longtime member of the FOE #613.

Fred was predeceased by his father, Frank R. Rivet in 2021 and nephew Don Rivet Jr. in 2019.

He leaves behind his wife Ila Rivet of 23 years; his mother Theresa Rivet of Pittsfield, NH; brothers Frank of VT; Don of Dalton, NH; sisters Diane of Pittsfield; Janet of Concord; daughters Stacey O’Brien (Ed) of Andover; Sara Tacy (Kyle) of Sanbornton; Grumpa to grandchildren Ashley Price (Josh) of Jericho, VT; Kaylin Stankatis (Johnny) of Northfield; Noah and Grace Tacy; great-grandchildren Caleb and Lydia Price; a special God-daughter Lisa-Marie Lyford (Jason) of Boscawen; nieces Sarah and Theresa; nephews Robert, Matt, Alex and Frank Jr. along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Calling hours will be held at Bennett’s Funeral Home, 209 N Main St Concord, NH on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 4-7pm with a small service at 6:30pm. Graveside services will take place at Blossom Hill Cemetery, 207 N State St Concord, NH on November 22, 2024 at 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ila Rivet through Franklin Savings Bank.
