PEMBROKE-Debra A. Littlefield, 60, of Pembroke, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2016. She was born in Bethany Deaconess Hospital in Brooklyn, New York on June 12, 1956 the daughter of Henry VanHouten and Florence (Leible) VanHouten. She lived on 71 Street, Glendale, New York until she was in her late teens.
Debra was humorous and quick witted; but also headstrong and fiercely hard working her whole life. In the words of her sister Donna, she was "Smart, brave ...and so very funny. She could make anyone laugh." In her late teens, she moved from Queens, New York to Manchester, New Hampshire to pursue work.
She was relentlessly driven and tactful, but those closest to Debra know how much she enjoyed the simpler things in life; long walks in the woods with her dog Shotzie, family, music and the ocean. As a child, she would spend summers with her extended family and cousins in Long Island at her grandmother's cabin near the beach. Her love of the ocean was one she shared with her mother, Flo.
Debra was predeceased by her parents, Harry and Florence VanHouten, and by her oldest sister Linda (VanHouten) Lawless.
Members of her immediate family include her husband, Robert Littlefield of Pembroke; her daughters, Lauren Littlefield and Amanda Littlefield; her brother Allen and her youngest sister, Donna (VanHouten) Kelly.
A calling hour will be held at the Bennett Funeral Home 209 N. Main St. Concord on Saturday November 12 from 10am to 11am with a Memorial Service to follow.
