William N. “Bill” Ott, age 75, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Bill was born on October 5, 1947 to Weldon and Lucille Ott in Columbus, Ohio. Bill graduated from high school then proudly served his country in the US Marines. He was a lifetime member of VFW where he served as Commander. Bill was also a member of American Legion Don Gentile Post #532 and AmVets #1928. He enjoyed taking his chances at gambling, hunting, fishing and going camping. Preceded in death by his parents, Weldon & Lucille Ott; siblings, Gene (Lil) Ott, Roger(Rose) Ott, Ronnie Ott, Norm (Pat) Ott, Carol Treadway, James Ott, Martha (Henry) McCoy and Dorothy (Noah) Harter; granddaughter, Bryna Ott and brother-in-law, John Esteph. Survived by his wife, Donna Ott; sons, William Lee “Bill” (Tonya) Ott, Benjamin Nole Ott and Bryan Dean (Nicole) Ott; grandchildren, Benjamin, Abigail, Emily and Kamryn; sister, Linda Esteph; many nieces and nephews and all his military comrades. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 from 4-7 pm and Thursday from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at Advantage Funeral & Cremation by Schoedinger-Hilltop, 3030 W. Broad Street, Columbus, Ohio 43204 where funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2023. Interment and military honors will follow at Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Sterling, Ohio. Memorial contributions can be made to the VFW in his memory.
