Susan May Kronenberger Burton, age 96, formerly of Upper Arlington, Ohio, entered into rest on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Pine Village, Moundridge, Kansas. She is survived by her children, Christy (Bruce) McLeish, Cindy Jacobs, Julie Parker; her brother, Earl (Julie) Kronenberger; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Susan was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio, graduated from Parker Co-op Vocational School in 1946, and married the love of her life Charles Carroll Burton on 11-27-1947. Susan was a loving mother, housewife and piano teacher. She retired from piano teaching after her children were raised. She was an avid reader of history and architecture and traveled with her husband throughout Europe, Canada, Mexico, Hawaii and the United States. During Susan’s active years she played in various sports leading to her membership with Ohio State University Women’s Golf Club, and the Women over 40’s Volley Ball League which raised money for Cystic Fibrosis research. While in Ohio, Susan belonged to her neighborhood bridge club and participated in senior activities at the Bryce Eck Activity Center. Susan was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Susan is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Charles Carroll, her parents George and Rosella Kronenberger, son-in-law Doug Jacobs, and son-in-law Ed Parker. Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio 43221. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to: “Pine Village Activities Department”, 86 22nd Avenue, Moundridge, Kansas, 67107.
