Shirley Ann Suber, sunrise September 18, 1926, sunset February 26, 2013. Shirley was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, daughter of the late Henry and Mildred Remmert. She is also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leon Suber and son, Raymond Suber. Shirley attended DeVilbiss High School, was a member of the American Legion’s Waltz Hodgins Post Drill Team and received her Bachelors of Education from the University of Toledo. She was asked to teach a math class at the university where her student and future husband, Leon, knew at first sight he would marry her. Shirley went on to raise a large family. She was the owner of a Hullabaloo Teenage Night Club in Detroit, Michigan, the Bonsai Gallery at the Continent in Columbus, Ohio and numerous other family businesses. She traveled the world and was always ready to take off on another adventure, especially a cruise. She embodied unconditional love and forgiveness and always put others before herself. She was a positive thinker who was always full of wisdom and taught her children to believe when it is beyond reason to believe and mostly to believe in themselves. She enjoyed poetry, love stories, movies, square dancing, bingo, slot machines, card club, playing games, and most of all, Shirley loved to laugh and make others laugh with her. She was an animal lover and OSU fan. She worked many years for Sodexo at OSU sporting facilities and concerts. She especially loved working the football games and seeing the band perform. She was lovingly known as Grandma to all. Shirley loved nothing more than taking wonderful care of and spending time with her family.
