Sheryl Stephanie Jackson, departed this life on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at the Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, OH.
Sheryl was born on March 26, 1965 in Columbus, Ohio to the union of William and Martha Jackson. Sheryl professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was an active member of First A.M.E. Zion Church.
Sheryl attended Columbus Alternative High School graduating with distinction, member of The National Honor Society and The International Thespian Society in June of 1983. Sheryl went on to pursue her love of Science at the Ohio State University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering on March 17, 1989. She went on to further her learning at The George Washington University School of Business were she successfully completed Risk Management and Managing IT Projects in 2004.
Sheryl had the gift of easily connecting with others. With an upbeat manner she shared her interests in museums, knitting, art, playing games, dancing and of course enjoying a good meal. Everyone she met felt they had found a friend. In addition to her personal pursuits, Sheryl touched many lives with her project management career at CompuServe, America Online, Resource Interactive, and 31 Gifts.
Sheryl is preceded in death by her parents William and Martha Jackson, grandparents Willie B (Ruby) Jackson of Zebulon, GA and Virgie (Grady) Watson of Gastonia, NC, Aunt Delores Jackson of Zebulon, GA, Uncles Grady Jr., Norman, Joseph, Charles and Kenneth Watson of Gastonia, NC.
Left to cherish her memory are her very special aunt and uncle, Emma Gene (Frank) Nivins of Columbus, OH; Aunts, Mary Odell Chester of Philadelphia, PA, Geraldine Watson and Louvenia Watson of Gastonia, NC; Uncles, Henry (Helen) Watson and Perry Watson of Gaston County, NC; special cousins, Debra (Greg) Wellmaker and family of Plant City, FL. Her special childhood friend Vincent Thomas, Columbus, OH.
She also leaves a host of cousins and friends to remember and celebrate her life. Special friends are Kris Branch, Janice Yount, Patricia Anderson and Aritha Peaks . Special acknowledgement to friend and caregiver Duane Bridges.
Memorial Service will be on Saturday May 5, 2018 at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, located at 229 E State Street, Columbus, Ohio 43215. Visitation will begin at 10am Saturday with service following at 11am.
