Ronald "Ron" D. Preece, age 65, of New Albany, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born on December 10, 1948 in Pecks Mill, WV to the late William and Maxine Preece. Ron was a loving and compassionate father and grandfather. He proudly served in the Army and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He retired after 25 years of service from AEP as an Electrical Draftsman. His passion was restoring cars and drag racing. In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his son, Scott Preece; and nephew, Bart Thompson. He is survived by his loving daughter, Amy (Jason) Gauntt; grandchildren, Atalie and Cohen Gauntt; siblings, Barb (Mike) Tolle, Susan (Dave) Buchanan, Randy (Donna) Preece; extended family and friends.
