Roger H. Reed, 66, of Delaware, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013. He was born July 18, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio and was a 1965 graduate of Mifflin High School. Roger proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He then went on to earn a bachelors degree from Franklin University.
Roger spent his career as an analyst with Blue Cross /Blue Shield and Central Benefits. He also worked as an analyst in Disaster Recovery for DSCC up until his retirement.
Roger enjoyed boating, golfing, traveling and was a frequent fan of the cinema. He was a loving husband, father and doting grandfather. He was a family oriented man who loved to spend time with his grandchildren. He was blessed with a large family and countless friends.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Roger H. Reed; and brother, Ray Reed.
Roger will be missed by his loving wife of 29 years, Maggie Reed; dear mother, Margarette Reed; son, Brian (Megan) Reed; daughter, Kelley (Michael) O’Toole; son, John (Sarah) Reed; son, Kris (Katrina) Cochran; grandchildren, Finnegan O’Toole, JD Reed, Ireland O’Toole, Brayson Reed, and Zane Cochran; brothers, Tom (Rita) Reed and Craig (Brenda) Reed; and sister, Rachel (Bill) Mathess .
Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 4 p.m. until the time of the memorial service that will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High St., Worthington (Just south of I-270).
In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to the American Cancer Society, Franklin County Unit, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, OH 43017.
