Robert Marshall Stutz, age 79, of Oakwood, OH, long time resident of Upper Arlington, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2023, one day before his 80th birthday. He is preceded in death by his parents Ralph Marshall and Evelyn Allen Stutz.
Robert “Bob” attended Oakwood High School, Kenyon College, then received a bachelor’s degree in International Studies and a master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University. He then began a law degree from the University of Cincinnati that was interrupted by an enlistment in the US Army during the Vietnam War. In the Army, Bob served as a non-commissioned officer in the Military Intelligence branch for 3 years and was honorably discharged as an E6 Staff Sergeant. During his time in the Army, Bob received an MBA from the University of Richmond. Bob ran Stutz and Associates, a successful home inspection business in Columbus for almost 30 years. After retirement, he owned an antique dealership known as Dovetail Joint Antiques. Throughout his life, Bob enjoyed traveling for fishing trips with friends and family, especially to the family island in Perry Sound, ON Canada. After his 3 children graduated from UA High School, Bob and Kathy attended Jack Russel Terrier trials with their dogs.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife Kathy, of 56 years. Also survived by son Rob, his wife Britney and his 3 sons Austin, Coleman and Finn and their mother Michele. Son Ted, his wife Beth and their children McCartney and Miller. Daughter Betsy, her husband Dr. Greg Berman and their children Emory and Thatcher. His sister Ginger of Petosky, MI. Her children Kathy, Steve, Julie and Andy. Also his mother-in-law, Mayme Wenger.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Robert’s memory to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at pulmonaryfibrosis.org. Visitation will be at Schoedinger 1740 Zollinger Rd. Upper Arlington, OH 43221 on Wednesday Oct. 11th from 4-6 followed by a service at 6.
