Richard Marshall Brown

Richard M. Brown, age 92, passed away on July 29, 2017 at Wesley Glen Retirement Community, Columbus, OH. He was the son of Jesse J. and Eva T. Brown, born in Athens, OH. He retired from Boeing Co. after employment as a precision machinist during his life. He served in the USMC during WWII in the South Pacific, ending his tour in the occupation of Japan after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. He was a member of Paramuthia Lodge 25, FandAM Athens, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Leonard; and a sister, Ida Mae Stanley. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite Niggemeyer Brown; a daughter Lynne (Mark) Siegal of Worthington, OH; and a son Michael (Leah) Brown, Stow, OH.; a grandson, Garrett (Megan) Brown; and a great-granddaughter, Audrey Brown of Canton, OH. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday August 3, 2017 at Schoedinger Worthington Chapel, 6699 N. High Street (1/2 mile South of I-270), where his friends and family will gather one hour prior to services from 1-2:00 pm on Thursday, with Dawn Swartz officiating. Private interment at Bates Cemetery in Athens, Ohio at a later date.
