Reason Benjamin “RB” Sheppard passed away on May 10, 2024 in Fort Myers, FL at the age of 91. He was born the fourth of seven children to Russell William and Ella Marie Sheppard on May 15, 1932 in Chadbourn, NC. He was a graduate of Columbus North High School, he attended OSU and he also served in the Ohio National Guard. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Juanita in 2002. He was also predeceased by his son John and his daughter-in-law Gail; and four of his sisters, Leone, Ann, Shirley and Esther “Sue”. RB is survived by his son Robert Sheppard; daughter Teresa Londergan (Brian); five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brother William Sheppard; sister Betty Foster; and many nieces and nephews.
RB and Juanita lived and raised their family in London, Ohio, while both working in and around central Ohio. RB worked in supervisory positions with Jeffries, McCords, Alcoa and Sykes Pumps. RB and Juanita were snowbirds to the Fort Myers area for several years prior to Juanita’s death. In 2011, RB moved to Fort Myers full time where he spent considerable time with his sons and daughter in his final years. He loved to travel and had several enjoyable tours to the British Isles, Africa, Europe, the Far East and the South Pacific. He loved horses and passed that along to his children. He loved sports, especially golf, and he rarely missed a sporting event of his children or grandchildren. RB was a true family man, may he rest in peace.
