Patricia Ann Hurd

Patricia Ann "Pat" Hurd, age 95, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on April 12, 1926 to the late Edward and Margaret Lauer. Pat was a graduate of West High School and attended The Ohio State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She retired from Doctor's West Hospital where she worked as an Enterstomal Nurse. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Hurd; and siblings, Bill Lauer and Mary Alice Horcher. Pat is survived by her children, Marcia (Bill) Scales, Michele (Steve) Lohner, Michael (Susan) Hurd, and Tricia Manning; sister, Charlene Lyday; seven grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren. She was dedicated to her family and her profession as a nurse. Pat was proud of each beloved grandchild and enjoyed her precious great grandchildren. She was an avid fan of OSU football; loved playing card games and was very good at them. She handmade all of her children, their spouses, grandchildren, and great grandchildren personalized Christmas gifts. She was always there for all of us and wishes us to remember and celebrate all the good times we had with her. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at 1:00PM in the mausoleum chapel at Sunset Cemetery, 6959 West Broad St. Galloway, Ohio 43119. There will be a gathering to celebrate Pat's life following the funeral service. Details to be announced by the family.
