Olive Jane Moore

Olive Jane Moore, age 93, of Friendship Village, Dublin, OH, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024. She was born in St. Clairsville, OH to the late John and Virginia (Smith) DeBertrand on October 13, 1930. Jane was a loving and steadfast wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, who lived each day with a focus on caring and kindness toward others. She was a true listener who gave wonderful advice, was endlessly supportive of her children and grandchildren, and was joyful in her role as a great grandmother. She began her career working in the Belmont County Courthouse as a clerk, then shifted to her role as a wife and mother putting her time and energy into creating a positive and supportive home for her husband and children. She treated everyone equally, had tremendous fortitude and patience, turned organization into an art form, enjoyed crafts and puzzles, and loved to laugh at the antics of her family. When asked, she shared that having electricity was the biggest change in her lifetime and spending time with her family was her greatest joy; she was so proud of each of member. She did not play favorites nor throw Skip Bo games – content to consistently win 90% of them. To her family, she was simply perfection.

In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her husband Francis E. Moore and brother Ernest DeBertrand. She is survived by her devoted children, Carol (Bill) Henderson, Neil (Sally) Moore, Janeen (Jeff) Jones, Linda (Bruce) Lipsitt; grandchildren, Kristen (Josh) Henley, Maureen (James) Smith, Alexandria Moore, Katherine (John) Kennedy, Keely Moore, Corey (Alyssa) Jones, Kyle Jones, Olivia Lipsitt, Nicholas Lipsitt; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Smith, Danielle Smith, John Kennedy, Jr., June Henley; and many wonderful friends.

Friends may call from 1-2 pm Saturday, June 8th, 2024 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2070 Ridgecliff Rd., Columbus, OH 43221. The funeral service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm with Reverend Janice Hilkerbaumer officiating. Interment at Union Cemetery will be at 10:00 am, Monday, June 10th.
