Michael L. "Mr. Green" Merritt

Michael L. “Mr. Green” Merritt, 69, of Westerville, passed away at his home Monday, April 11, 2011. He was born August 28, 1941 in Columbus. For the past 35 years, Mike and his wife owned and operated Green’s Dry Cleaners and Shirt Laundry in Westerville. Mike enjoyed camping at Dogwood Valley with Diane, playing poker, golfing, and spending time with his pets. He had many friends and acquaintances. Preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Elizabeth Merritt; and brother, Thomas Merritt. Mike will be missed by his loving wife of almost 41 years, Diane; sisters, Barbara (John) Lewis, Marianne (Les) Jackson, Betti Hamilton, Major Earline “Dolly” May, and Kathleen Wiseman; many nieces and nephews; cousins, Sharon (Greg) Muncey and their children, David (Julie) Muncey; son, Anthony Merritt; granddaughter, Kathleen; and great-granddaughter, Molly. Family will receive friends Friday, April 15, 2011 from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd., Columbus, OH, Major Earline “Dolly” May, officiating.
