Mary Eileen Childress

Mary Eileen Childress, 98, of Marionville Missouri, sadly departed on December 28, 2022, following deterioration of health issues. She is preceeded in death by her parents, Marvin and Exie Childress and ex-husband Richard Gross. Eileen is survived by her brother, Robert Childress, her six sons, Douglas (Eun mi) Gross, Kevin (Gail) Gross, Kim (Joyce) Gross, Dana Gross, Brett (Leslie) Gross and Dirk (Sandy) Gross, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five nephews and nieces.

Eileen was a full-time mother and homemaker. She later attended college and became a nurse. She was active in the Linworth United Methodist Church in Ohio and the Serenity Baptist Church in Tucson, Arizona. She was a very accomplished seamstress making clothing for herself and her family as well as numerous beautiful quilts. Eileen enjoyed family, making and eating good food, travel, flowers and vegetables, especially Ohio tomatoes. She enjoyed the climate, beauty and wildlife in Tucson, which was her home for many years.

Eileen's funeral is scheduled on Saturday, January 21, 2023, in the Chapel at Forest Lawn Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dale George officiating.
