Martha Ann "Marty" Newman

Martha Ann "Marty" Newman, age 81 of Columbus, Ohio passed on Saturday, April 13, 2013. Marty was born in Columbus, February 8, 1932, daughter of the late John Parker and Esther Lovena Horton. Also preceded in death by her brother, John Thomas Horton and sister, Bonnie Jean (Joseph) DeCarlo. Marty was an outgoing and loving lady who always had an open door policy with family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed shopping, country music (Fan Fair), ballroom dancing, bowling, the Ohio State Fair, traveling, activities with friends at the Blendon Senior Center and Native American art, jewelry and culture. Marty will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 63 years, Donald Glenn Newman; children, John Lee (Susie) Newman of Westerville, Shirley Ann (David) Katzmeyer of Gahanna and Maria Dawn Beebe of Grove City; grandchildren, Steven Diles, Amber (Dwayne) Scott, Shea (Adrianne) Adams, Trevor Adams, Nicholas Adams, Courtney Katzmeyer, Torey Katzmeyer, Skyler Beebe and Ellie Newman; and great grandchildren, Alexandria Price, Kiya Scott and Isabella Adams. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Friday, April 19, 2013 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., where family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Thursday.
