Marilyn JoAnne Monroe

Marilyn was born in Chillicothe, Ohio on July 1, 1940 to the late Hobart Ansel and Bertha Marie (Ogan) Wade. She passed on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at her daughter’s residence in Heath, surrounded by her family. She was 72.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her son Eric, brothers Hobart Jr. and Leo, and her sisters Roberta and Maxine.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Monte; daughters Tracie Monroe of Clinton Twp., Michigan, Stephanie (Larry) Boyd of Heath, and son Kirk Monroe of Newark; grandchildren Samantha Boyd, David Semons, and Trevor Awe; and her great-grandchildren Sammie, Lizzie, and Tarik. Marilyn is also survived by her sister Arleen Estle of Ray, and brothers Alvin Wade of Chillicothe and Ralph Wade of Tipp City.

Marilyn was a 1958 graduate of Huntington High School in Ross County, where she was a cheerleader; she worked as a secretary for the Newark Air Force Base and later at Boeing. She loved to quilt and crochet. She loved animals and will be missed by her cats, namely Patches.
