Ludwig W. “Lou” Schmidt, Jr., age 77, of Columbus, died Sunday, June 4, 2023 at his home. He was a member of Good Guys Car Club and drag raced his 1957 Chevy “The Old Lamp Lighter” at Pace Makers Race Way in Mt. Vernon. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sandy, and son, John Schmidt. He is survived by his wife, Susan; son, Aaron (Miki) Schmidt; stepsons, Kenny, Earl, and Billy Tolliver, Kevin (Mary), Kirk (Crissy), Keith (Jodi), and Kenny (Christy) Lloyd; brother, Charles Schmidt; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. At Lou’s request, there will be no services. Arrangements by Advantage by Schoedinger North.
