Katherine (Katie) Plew LeVeque, 57, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013. Katie was born in Columbus, Ohio on March 21, 1956 to the late Frederick Will LeVeque and Katherine Segars LeVeque. She graduated from Columbus School for Girls in 1974 and attended the Cornell University School of Architecture, Art and Design and Colby College. A gifted artist, she also studied at the Universite Aix en Province, in Aix, France for a summer. Katie served on the board of Maryhaven and assisted her mother in many civic causes. She enjoyed teaching Art to children and had an interest in Art Therapy. In her own words, “My life seems to be most fulfilled when I am helping others.” Katie is survived by her beloved children who were her pride and joy, Jimmy and Katie Plew. She is also survived by her mother, Katherine Segars LeVeque, her siblings Les LeVeque (Daniella Dooling), Fred LeVeque, Colin LeVeque (Barbara), and Bonne Moore (David) as well as many nieces and nephews and loving friends and her husband, Rick Bornheim.
