John (Jack) Jay Keller 90, of Aurora, OH passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, March 19th, 2024 at Anna Maria of Aurora. He was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 11th, 1934 to the late Jack and Elizabeth Keller. Jack is once again reunited with his loving wife, Joyce Keller, who died in 1989 and his daughter Julie Popham who died in 2001.
Jack graduated from The Ohio State University where he ran track and played basketball on the freshman team. He was a school teacher in Columbus for 30 years where he taught Ohio history and geography. Jack enjoyed bowling in the teachers league and gardening in his yard. He also loved a good bowl of ice cream.
Jack will be deeply missed by his family : his sister Patricia Keller; his daughter Jennifer (John) Grimsley & son John (Lisa) Keller; grandchildren Kristopher (Sara) Popham, Jonathon Popham, Justin Keller, Ryan Keller; great grandchildren Katy May Popham and Kamryn Popham.
2nd spouse, Pat Wonnell; her son Ralph (Kimberly) Wonnell; grandchildren, Athena (Stephen) Matsko, Alicia (Jeff Haberny) Amicone, Stefanie (Nick) Bartolone, Stephen (Kelly) Wonnell; great-grandchildren, Lillian, Juliet, and Jocelyn Matsko, Logan and Malena Amicone, Liam Haberny, Geofredo, Stella, Josephine, and Colette Bartolone.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 29th, 2024 at Schoedinger North on Karl Rd. in Columbus, with funeral services to be held at 11:00 am. Burial to follow at 2:00 pm at Basil Memorial Cemetery in Baltimore, Ohio.
