Joanne N. Kloss, 84 years old, of Dublin, Ohio died Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Darby Glenn Nursing Center. Joanne grew up on a family farm in Morrow County (Fredericktown), Ohio with her eight brothers and sisters. Joanne graduated from Chesterville High School in 1950. She moved to Columbus and worked at the Huntington National Bank as a teller. Joanne spent summers getting her hands dirty. She loved the outdoors, especially her flowers and landscaping and picking strawberries at Jacquemin Farms. She was a 20 year volunteer in the maternity ward at Riverside Methodist Hospital where she cared for countless newborns and nervous young parents. Joanne also loved beautiful indoor things - "pretties" she called them - like Herend porcelain, oriental rugs and artwork of all kinds (but not the Glenna Goodacre sculpture that was so cherished by Bill, Sr.). Her home was Architectural Digest worthy and her Christmas decorations were envied by Santa himself. Joanne never hesitated to help others, whether friends, neighbors, siblings or strangers in need - she would do anything for anybody at any time. She will be missed greatly by her son, daughter-in-law and grandchildren (and their dog Jack). But the memories of great meals, double scoops at Graeters (no small scoops!), hugs, hearty laughs and games with the "Grumpy Old Troll" will prevail over sadness. Preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Bill Kloss, Sr., parents, Leroy and Josephine Nauman, and brothers, Richard, Jack, Dale, George, Leroy. Survived by her son Bill, Jr. (Jan), of Dublin and twin grandchildren, Andy and Abby, siblings Janene, Donna and Ed, and countless nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Funeral service 10 a.m. Thursday, April 6 in the sanctuary at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd. Private interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. Rev. James M. Long, officiating. Contributions may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation http://www.parkinson.org, in her memory. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.schoedinger.com.
