Edwin Keith Runyon went to be with the Lord on December 14, 2016. He was born in Detroit, Michigan to the late John and Mary (Atkinson) Runyon on October 19, 1956. Ed was a graduate of DeVry University and was the Advanced Technology Manager for ADB Safegate; he worked there 35 years. Ed developed many new technologies that are in place today, and possesses numerous patents from Germany and the United States, including the BRITE power line carrier system. Ed was a leading force in the Airfield Lighting Community. He worked with hand in hand with people all over the world. He made it a better and safer place for all. Ed leaves his wife Diane (Kellogg) Runyon and his daughter Sarah (Jason) Runyon-Leder. Ed had endless love for his family. He also leaves step-children John Michael (Becky) Matthews, Jeremy (Marcy) Matthews, Matt (Dana) Black, and Kim Wade; grandchildren Drew, Quinn, Reese, Noah, Grant and Zayne Matthews, Taylor and Loegen Wade, and Anthony Black; and numerous other relatives and friends. Ed inspired all of us to be the best we could be. He was our biggest cheerleader. He never said a negative word about anyone. He will leave a large hole in our family that can never be filled. The family will receive friends from 1-3pm Sunday, December 18, 2016 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 North High Street. His funeral service will immediately follow. Burial and a short service will be held at 12:30pm Monday, December 19, 2016 in the Wade Chapel at Lake View Cemetery in Cleveland.
