Duane graduated from West High School, and later went on to serve his country in The US Airforce as an Airman. Was released upon an Honorable discharge after receiving an excellent rating for his good service. He worked at Mac Tools Distribution for 38 years, as a forklift driver, with a record of perfect attendance throughout the 38 years of his career. After retirement, Duane enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren, friends and family. Where ever he was, he brought great happiness, great laughs, and joy. He will be deeply missed.
Duane is survived by his son, Duane R Fisher Jr.; daughter, LaToya Fisher; granddaughters, Montana Hill, KeAnne Smith, Kelise Smith, Meelah Rose Gable and Mia Fisher; (bonus granddaughters) Clarissa and Melissa Fisher; grandson, Taveras (CJ) Hill; great grandsons, Grayson Fisher, Nigel (Bear) Jackson and Nahmir Jackson; sisters, Betty (Russell) Broomfield and Tina (Roy) Arter; (bonus) brother, Kevin Jordan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Willi Anne Fisher; mother, Kathryn Fisher; father Oliver Fisher; brothers, Terry Fisher and Gary Fisher; sister, LeeAnn Fisher; and grandson, Aaron Fisher.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Smyrna Baptist Church, 1650 Wilson Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43207, where a funeral service will follow at 11 AM. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
