Donna "Penny" Bowman

Donna Virginia “Penny” Bowman, age 75, of Columbus passed away Friday, May 25, 2018. She was born on April 27, 1943 in Alcoa, TN. Penny retired from Franklin County with over 40 years of service. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and caring for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roscoe Thomas Bowman, Jr.; daughter, Sharon Smith; parents, Claudia V. and William “Van” Rice and William P. and Ruby A. Siler; brother, William Monte Siler. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Roscoe Tyrone Bowman (Anita), Roscoe Thomas "Trey" Bowman III, and Elana D. Bowman; grandchildren, Jody Spurlock, Howard (Renee) Hickman, Ada Smith, Lawrence Smith, Shawn Bowman, Qiana Taylor, Janie Bowman, DeVonte Bowman, Drew Rossey, Roscoe T. Bowman IV, Zachary I. Bowman; 16 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lowell L. Siler, LaTonia Siler-Holloman, and Dejuana (William) Henderson; sister-in-law, Maliwan Siler; special Aunt, Lillie S. Ransom; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday, June 2, 2018 at First Baptist Church, 1185 Noe Bixby Rd., where family will receive friends from 9:30 am until the time of service. Pastor Paul Large officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church. Arrangements entrusted to Schoedinger East Chapel.
