Donald James Perry

Donald James Perry, age 65 of Columbus, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025. Don was born in Urbana and grew up in Grandview Heights, son of the late James and Jane Perry. He graduated from Grandview High School, Class of 1978 and went on to graduate from The Ohio State University where he studied Agronomy. Throughout Don’s career, he worked many places as a Golf Course Greens Superintendent. Don was a wonderful and loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a quiet man with a gentle soul and had a big loving heart. A man of few words, but always quick with a friendly smile. To know him is to love him. He enjoyed and loved God, his friends and family, golf, baseball, running marathons, following OSU sports and the Cincinnati Reds, and of course the outdoors and using his green thumb talents to create beauty. Don will be greatly missed by his loving brother, Douglas (Tina) Perry; nephews and niece, Alex (Erica), Zach (Jasmine), and Miranda Perry. Girlfriend, Brenda Blythe; dear friends, Jeff Warbis and Randy Fowls; and other extended family members. Private family services will be held. Don’s family would like to thank the staff at West Park Care Center and National Church Residences Hospice for the wonderful care and love they gave Don.
