Born October 21, 1948 in Follansbee, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Rev. William James Smith and Grace Viola Anderson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her oldest brother, William J. Smith Junior.
She retired from Ohio Health/Riverside Hospital where she proudly "saved lives and stamped out disease" as a neurosurgical nurse for 38 years and helped to redesign the operating rooms. An avid student of Christianity, she was a member of Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) and a member of the Vineyard Church of Columbus. She loved family gatherings, and was a wonderful baker and home chef, always willing to learn and try new recipes. She also loved to golf and tend to her treasured flowers and herb gardens.
Survivors include her daughter, Alicia R. Lee, her beloved grandson Salah al-Din; three sisters, Mrs. John (Lila) Wolfram of Columbus, OH, Ms. Michelle Marie Jackson of Blacklick, OH and Mrs. Jaye (Melissa) Williams of Bakersfield, CA; two brothers, David K. Smith of Columbus, OH and Daniel C. Smith of Bakersfield, CA; and 9 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at SCHOEDINGER DUBLIN, 5980 Perimeter Drive, Dublin, OH 43017, at 11AM on Friday, January 29, 2021. Interment will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike, Lewis Center, OH 43035.
