Carol Lee Wilson

Carol Lee (Amos) Wilson, 79, of Circleville passed away on February 2, 2022. She was born November 6, 1942 in Circleville to her parents, William Amos and Nannie Marie (Marshall) Topping. Carol was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker whose pride and joy was her family. She was married December 17, 1960 to her husband, Michael N. Wilson.

Carol was an active woman who had a lot of interests and activities. She bowled on a bowling league for many years, participated in ceramic classes, loved mushroom hunting, tending her many flower gardens, and couldn’t resist stopping by many yard sales when out with family and friends. She spent 30 years at the dirt track every weekend beginning in the 60’s watching her husband Mike race and then watching her son Mike, Jr. race, continuing the family tradition through today. She loved to go to the Pumpkin Show every year to visit with and catch up with family and friends, and loved to take drives in the countryside to see the wildlife, wide open sky, and beautiful sunsets. She was an amazing cook whose family loved everything she made. She grew up on a farm and her love of animals started there at an early age.

Carol loved her close family and they would celebrate all birthdays and holidays together because being with her family was one of her favorite things to do. She was always available for her family and friends to give her love and guidance and her supporting hand to help them through their daily lives. Carol was a carefree spirit who had a way with words that always left everyone around her enjoying themselves and laughing.

She was the one who would comfort her family when times were tough, and was their sunshine when they needed a beautiful smile to brighten their day. She was the one that kept her family grounded and was always there to give her love and guidance and to listen and support them through all the different seasons of their lives.

Carol will be greatly missed by her husband of 61 years, Michael N. Wilson, Sr.; her children Rhonda Lee Wilson (John) Rhoads and Michael N. (Mary Ellen) Wilson, Jr.; grandchildren Johnelle Lee Rhoads, Morgan Lee Rhoads, Sha Lynn Louise Adams, Joni L. (Bobby) Lowery, and Paulica Haddox; her siblings Sue (Leslie) Brown of Circleville, Marilyn (Oliver) Copley of Palm City, FL., and William L. (Debbie) Amos, of Nashport, OH; sister-in-law Eldora Greenlee of Lancaster, OH; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; as well as her kitties and canine baby, CiCi.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents William Amos, Nannie Marie Topping, and stepfather Gene Topping; siblings James Greenlee and Wesley “Buddy” Amos.
