Bill Holland, age 85, passed away peacefully at Summit’s Trace on July 30, 2013. He was born April 1, 1928 in Oakdale, PA to the late George and Kathryn Holland; also preceded in death by his beloved wife Darlene (McFarland) Holland and brothers, Ralph and Henry Holland. Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from F.O. Schoedinger. He worked as a portal chief in OSU stadium and rooted for the Steelers, Pirates, Columbus Clippers and Blue Jackets. He was a former member of the Delaware Eagles #376 and American Legion Post #430. Bill loved to whistle! He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Colleen (Jeff) Cain, Jeffery (Kathi) Holland, Timothy (Suzanne) Holland and Joyce (Jeff) Sheets; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; extended family and friends. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at 2pm Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232 where family will receive friends from 1-2pm; Kathy Holland-Garrison, officiating. Private inurnment in Northlawn Memory Gardens at a later date.
