Betty J. Campbell

Betty J. Campbell, age 97 of Columbus, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2024. Betty was born in Sterling, Ohio and grew up in Marion, Ohio, daughter of the late Wade and Goldie (Cornelius) Ralph. Also preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Campbell and Robert Kalischer, son, Colin Campbell, and siblings, Ivan, Marvin, and Gene Ralph. Betty graduated from White Cross nursing School and also Ohio Dominican College where she graduated with a degree in Library Sciences. She worked as a nurse throughout her career at various facilities and also as a librarian. Betty was an intelligent, spunky and sometimes ornery woman. She had a passion for education and was very active with Ozarka Community College in Melbourne, Arkansas where she was instrumental in their nursing scholarship program. Betty had a love for books and was an avid reader. In addition, she also enjoyed swimming and playing bridge with friends. She will be missed by her children, Elizabeth (Edward) Claggett, John (Melanie) Campbell, Barbara Campbell, and Courtney (Doug) Potts; grandchildren, Heather (Lucas) Stewart, Sean (Claire) Campbell, Amanda (Harry McCleod) Claggett, Alicia Seal, and Nicholas Potts; 6 great grandchildren; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Family will receive friends from 3-5 P.M. Monday, October 14, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Private family graveside will be held.
