Barbara Shepard of Dublin, Ohio passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2015 after a courageous, yet graceful 21 year battle with Scleroderma. She was 64. Barb graduated from The Ohio State University with a BS in Psychology and earned her Masters Degree from The University of Dayton. Barb had a successful career in Human Resources with a focus on the health care industry. She enjoyed reading books, full-bodied red wines, and a refreshing gin and tonic. She enjoyed playing golf and had a hole in one, until the effects of Scleroderma prevented her from playing. She is a past board member of St. Vincent's Family Center and the Capital Area Humane Society in Columbus, OH. She shared a passion for animals with her husband, and took great comfort in spending time with her cats, Chelsea, Sophie and Noir. She also enjoyed attending meetings and events at The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and the Ohio Wildlife Center. She was preceded in death by her father, Herold "Smoky" Kennan. Barb is survived by her mother, Mary Keenan; husband, Steve Shepard; cat, Noir; cousins Jan Van Dyke (Herb), Ron Tague (Linda), Kathy Wagoner, Debbie Barney (Steve), Mike Keenan; aunts Evelyn Tague and Nancy Hutchison; father-in-law, Paul Shepard (Jean); brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Sara Shepard; and nephews Andy and Matt Shepard. A service in Barb's memory will be held at 6 PM on Thursday December 3 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N High St. followed by a Celebration Reception at Muirfield Village Golf Club, 5750 Memorial Dr. at 7:30 PM.
